Frequently Asked Questions

A basic 3 kWp residential system starts from €4,500 fully installed. A 5 kWp system starts from €6,500. IDAE grants cover up to 40%, reducing the net cost significantly. The exact price depends on roof type, panel orientation and whether battery storage is included.
With current electricity prices and available IDAE grants, most residential PV installations in Barcelona pay back in 5 to 8 years, then generate free clean electricity for the remaining 15–20+ years of the panel's lifespan.
Batteries are not required — without them you can export surplus energy to the grid and receive compensation. However, batteries maximise self-consumption by storing solar energy for use at night or on cloudy days, and are especially worthwhile if you charge an EV at home.
Most roofs are suitable — flat, pitched, tile or metal. South-facing pitches at 30–35° are ideal, but east/west orientations also work well. Our free on-site survey assesses your specific roof and shading conditions to design the optimal system.
